One week after announcing an agreement to acquire U.K.-based Air Partner, private aviation supplier Wheels Up has bought Alante Air Charter, the company announced Thursday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Alante was established in 2014. “Over the past year, we have partnered with Alante Air as a trusted third-party operator, which has served our members well during a period of unprecedented demand in private aviation,” Wheels Up founder and CEO Kenny Dichter said in a statement.
The acquisition will “help Wheels Up strengthen its operational efficiencies and scale its marketplace,” according to the company. The deal also will add 12 Cessna Citation CJ3, CJ3+ and CJ4 light jets to its current fleet. In addition, Wheels Up expects to add 39 pilots to the company.
The company declined further comment, citing a “quiet period.”
