— The Minnesota State Patrol says alcohol was involved in a two-vehicle intersection crash that injured both drivers Thursday morning north of Clarkfield.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Lucas Robert Richter, 43, of Granite Falls, was traveling westbound on 310th Avenue while a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Parker Joseph James Eischens, 20, of Marshall, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 59 when the two collided.
The injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Richter was transported to CCM Health Hospital in Montevideo. He was not wearing a seat belt, and the report says alcohol was involved.
Eischens was transported to Avera Granite Falls Health Center. He was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed. Alcohol was not involved.
Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the crash.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkfield Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance and CCM Health Emergency Medical Services also responded to the crash reported at 6:43 a.m. Thursday.
