For many people, the food at Glastonbury Festival is one of the biggest draws, with hundreds of specialist food trucks descending on the site.

Walking around, you are truly spoilt for choice, with every single type of food on offer from every corner of the world. I’ve seen Indian food, Thai food, vegan specials, pizzas, ostrich burgers, as well as all different manners of burgers and chips you can think of.

As I paced it around the site this morning, one particular truck caught my eye in West Holts – New Orleans Kitchen.

The smell wafting out of the truck was incredible and I saw the Cajun chicken on the menu. It was advertised as coming in a ‘basket’ and I thought it was worth a go.

It came with Cajun fries, slaw, cheese sauce and Habanero chilli jam, all for £13. I waited about a minute before a bowl of tantalising food was put in my hand.

The staff were really on it and super speedy, which is great when you’ve been up since 4am and are starving. I was prepared for it to be spicy, and indeed it was.

My lips started to burn almost as much as my shoulders, but not in a bad way. Each element of the bowl was delicious, the slaw was the refreshing off set to the fries I needed and the chicken was succulent. The portion size was also very decent and left me feeling very full.

£13 is a pretty standard rate in the festival for a meal and this one filled me up completely. I would give my overall experience 9/10, for taste, 10/10 for staff and 8/10 for value for money.
