In the heart of Winteringham, North Lincolnshire, sits the county’s only Michelin Star restaurant.

When the KC Stadium first opened and Elton John performed there, he famously flew in by helicopter and had a meal at Winteringham Fields after he had finished the show.
As well as a 6-course lunch menu, the restaurant prides itself on its 8-course dinner menu, where guests can sample small plates that have been lovingly designed by the team at Winteringham Fields.
Head chef Gareth Bartram said: “Guests can expect a gastronomical experience using the very best ingredients our local area and country has to offer.
“Lasting anything up to 3-4 hours, guests are treated like royalty from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.”
To give an idea of the kind of delicacies on offer, a sample menu on their website listed the following courses:
- Chicken Taco with Fermented Cabbage, Lime, Herb Emulsion
- Slow Poached Arlingtion White Egg with Celeriac, Morteau Sausage, Ham Fat Dressing
- Hand Dived Orkney Scallop with Roe, Fennel Salad, Coconut Curry Sauce
- BBQ Short Rib Wagyu with Pomme Mousseline, Mushroom Ragout, Black Autumn Truffle
- Pan Seared North Sea Cod with Cucumber, Herring Roe, Dill Oil, Smoked Sauce
- Roast Loin of Yorkshire Texel Lamb with WF Tender Stem Broccoli, Goats Curd, Lovage
- Baked Cheesecake with Fermented English Blackberries, Ginger, Buttermilk
- Chocolate Mousse with Feuilletine, Hazelnut, Yoghurt
The 8-course menu is priced at £99 per person, with the option to pair it with a wine selection for a further £79 per person.
Speaking about their success, Gareth Bartram said: “It feels incredible to have been awarded a Michelin Star and be the only restaurant in the county which holds this amazing accolade.
“We have an amazing team, all with the same mindset and passion which is essential in achieving something as prestigious as a Michelin Star.”
It’s not just the restaurant’s menu that gives you an idea of their standard of quality, however. It’s their facilities, too.
Winteringham Fields has its very own helipad. So, if you prefer to travel by helicopter, this restaurant can accommodate that.
Along with Elton John, there is a whole host of celebrities who have eaten at Winteringham Fields.
