In the beginning of the year, students at Stringtown Elementary School learned about modern pop artist and author, Michael Albert. Little did they know, they would be taking his workshop, a “Modern Pop Art Experience” Monday morning.
Albert travels the world, combining his art style with his recycling philosophy to create one of a kind collages. His message to students, is that you don’t need expensive materials to make art, you can use anything in your house. “I would’ve never guessed, cutting up a cereal box 25 years ago, that now I’d be in Evansville, Indiana sharing my art with a school,” says Albert.
Each grade used cardboard, glue, and scissors to make their own collages, and were also given signed coloring sheets to take home.
