Revenge game? The Dallas Mavericks certainly hope not.
The Mavericks will reportedly travel to Phoenix to play the Suns on Oct. 19 to open the 2022-23 NBA season for both squads, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Monday evening.
Of course, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks sent the Suns into the offseason with a 120-90 win in the Western Conference semifinals last season. Doncic scored 35 points with 10 rebounds — Spencer Dinwiddie contributed 30 more parts.
The rest of the 2022-23 schedule will be released Wednesday, league sources told Marc Stein.

The Mavericks finished the 2021-22 regular season with a 52-30 season in Jason Kidd’s first year as head coach in Dallas. Doncic and the Mavs made a deep playoff run before stumbling to the world champion Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals, 4-1.
Come Wednesday, the rest of the Mavericks schedule could give a better idea on what challenges they will face.
