Passengers have been advised not to travel from London Waterloo due to a serious signalling problem.
A “complicated and unusual” signal failure in the Surbiton area means only a limited service can run across the whole South Western Railway (SWR) network on Friday (June 11).
John Halsall, Network Rail Southern region director said: “We’re so sorry for the major problems passengers are facing today. This is an unusually complex problem and we’re working as hard as we can resolve it, but even if we can fix it soon, the disruption is likely to continue to the rest of the day. As soon as we can get things moving normally again we will.”
SWR does not currently have an estimate for when London Waterloo disruption will end.
SurreyLive will provide live updates on the travel disruption in the blog below.
