Taking inspiration from its open-wheel motorsports counterparts, NASCAR takes to the streets and takes over the Second City on track with e-Racing origins.
The Chicago Street Circuit will provide the Cup Series Drivers with a challenge like no other they will face, and those drivers who excel on road courses will have an advantage heading into the unfamiliar territory of heavy breaking zones and ninety-degree turns that tracks like Circuit of the Americas or ovals like Talladega don’t have.
With Martin Truex Jr. in some of the best form of his career, Insidersbettingdigest goes deep into the streets of the Loop to find the best picks in our Grant Park 220 betting analysis and prediction.

NASCAR Cup Series: Grant Park 220 Circuit Preview
While we can’t look to past success to help direct our NASCAR Picks, we can look at recent road track success and explore the track layout to help turn our bets into winning ones.
While the Chicago Street Course may look simple and feature fantastic scenery, the long straights leading to 90-degree turns and heavy braking zones will challenge drivers and teams in ways an oval or road course cannot.
With a start/finish line next to Buckingham Fountain and a 90-degree left-handed turn 1, the Grant Park 220 takes a right onto South Lake Shore Drive with Lake Michigan to the left.
This leads to a fairly easy turn three, but many drivers will have trouble with double right-hand turns at turns 4-5, with a short straight in between the turns.
Oval skill will factor in on East Congress Plaza and the right-left-right curve of turns 8-10, passing the Spearman, Bowman, and Magdalene statues around Ida B Wells Drive.
NASCAR Cup Series: Grant Park 220 Betting Preview
We start our Grand Park 220 betting preview with one of the favorites to win in the NASCAR Odds, Martin Truex Jr. after having led the most laps and winning at Sonoma, Truex Jr. instantly became a favorite for the upcoming street circuit.
However, it’s Truex Jr’s recent run of form pushing him further forward as a potential winner in Chicago. Truex Jr. has 2 wins, 8 top 10s, and 4 top 5s in his last 10 races.
Truex Jr. isn’t the only driver with incredible form right now. Kyle Busch has one race win and has finished in the top 10 in the last five races. Busch has three race wins, and ten top-ten finishes this season.
The Tyler Reddick vs William Byron battle for a significant portion of the race at CoTA should have both drivers among your potential Grant Park 220 betting picks. While Reddick won at CoTA and Byron slipped to fifth, neither driver was successful at Sonoma.
However, Byron has had an outstanding season, with ten top-ten finishes, including seven top-ten finishes in his last eight races.
