FRAMINGHAM — City police officers will take to the court against youth basketball players on Saturday to help raise money for a youth basketball league.
The game between the Framingham Police Department and Team New England MetroWest will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Butterworth Park.
“We’re going to have our middle schoolers — eighth grade through high school juniors — out there playing,” said Nate Martino, coach of Team New England MetroWest. “All money raised goes toward the league.”
Team New England MetroWest is the newest entry in the Team New England AAU basketball organization. It has teams serving sixth graders through juniors in high school. Team New England has teams throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
During Saturday’s game, people will have a chance to buy shirts and other items, as well as making donations, to assist with expenses Team New England MetroWest endures, including traveling and equipment.
