The latest weather forecast said a cold weather pattern would emerge from December to January in the portions of Northwest, bringing snow to Seattle, Oregon and  Portland.

As the calendar flipped to December, the beginning of the month experienced severe weather conditions, heavy rain, strong wind gusts, tornadoes and snow.

Meteorological winter also began on December 1, 2022, allowing many to feel the early taste of the winter season. In addition, the report said that the astronomical winter is set on December 21, 2022. Whatever dates anyone expects this winter, they could expect colder weather and snow.

According to the latest forecast, AccuWeather reported on December 3, 2022, that more snow could unload in portions of the Northwest cities. The forecast added that it could bring temperatures to their coldest levels.

People should ensure that their heating system could be working as temperatures could plummet. Wearing the appropriate layered clothes could help alleviate the colder weather. As advised by health professionals, prolonged exposure to cold temperatures could lead to health risks.

The forecast added that they have been monitoring the portions of Seattle for potentially heavy snow. Recently. Seattle recorded snow last month. In addition, the report said that Portland and Seattle could expect potential much-awaited white Christmas.

Rain and mountain snow in California

On the other hand, a recent forecast said that a new storm could emerge in portions of California. Residents in the area could expect another round of rain and mountain snow this weekend.

The weather conditions could affect daily travel and commute in California. Motorists should be careful with reduced road visibility and slick roads.

On the other hand, the report added that skiing would be ideal in some parts of California. Good skiing conditions are reported in portions of Colorado, the Rocky Mountains, Sierra, Cascades and Central Rockies. However, it is best to check the weather and mountain snow hazards before traveling for skiing.

On the other hand, the forecast added that a blast of cold air is expected in Mid-December, allowing for colder weather. In New York, the heavy lake-effect snow would bring colder air.

 White Christmas  Chances

Furthermore, many Americans are looking forward to a white Christmas this December. However, AccuWeather’s outlook on 2022 white Christmas chances showed that some portions of the United States could have higher to lower white Christmas chances.

The forecast explained that higher white Christmas could emerge in Seattle, Billings and Minneapolis. Meanwhile, the report added that lower white Christmas chances are seen in San Francisco, Los Angeles, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Charlotte, Miami, Jacksonville, Washington, New York and Boston.

Additionally,  medium white Christmas chances could emerge in Denver and Chicago.

Based on the previous forecast, this season’s winter would be warmer than last year.

As decorations for Christmas are ready for many houses in the United States, it is important to stay updated with the weather for a potential winter storm, heavy rain or strong wind gusts.
