A series of free family events are coming to Peterborough to kick off the festive season.
Unlocking Peterborough is an initiative by Peterborough Positive and funded by the Welcome Back fund, which aims to encourage the safe and successful reopening of local economies.
After hosting a series of events in October (which featured the giant exhibition LOVEART in Cathedral Square), Unlocking Peterborough will continue with an exciting Christmas lineup.

This will include circus performances, strolling musicals, street theatre, work by local artists, and a Christmas winter wonderland.
Taking place in the city centre, around Peterborough Cathedral and the Guildhall, the events will begin during the weekend of November 27 to 28.
The events will kick off with a combination of street acrobats, circus walkabouts, and painters creating murals that will create a ‘hub of creativity.’
This will be complemented by the Winter Wonderland Birds, who will “ bring the sounds of peacocks to Peterborough with magnificent visual effect”.
Music will be provided by the Dickensian Christmas Ding Dong, a strolling musical performance decked in holly and ivy, while Christmas stilt walkers Tinsel and Cracker will also roam the streets of Peterborough.
Next on the agenda is the Winter Fairy, who will be in Peterborough on December 11 and 12.
Described as: “a snow-kissed, frost touched attraction”, the Winter Fairy is said to enchant and mesmerize.
