Travel writers at the prestigious magazine rounded up top-notch dining spots from across the country for people to check out in 2022; “from exemplary foraged ingredients to mackerel pulled from the depths of Loch Fyne, there’s plenty for diners in Scotland to cheer.”
Lorna McNee, the former protégé of the late Andrew Fairlie, was singled out for creating tasting menus which are a “masterclass of culinary storytelling”.
Another honourable mention is newcomer Unalome in Finnieston, which opened in July. The brainchild of the vastly experienced patron chef Graeme Cheevers was chosen for its “modern European dishes packed full of high-quality Scottish ingredients”.
Just outside of Glasgow is Bearsden’s Monadh Kitchen, which was praised for its incredible value and the creativity and hard work of husband-and-wife team Martin Thliveros and Sharlene Harvey, who “command the kitchen and dining room, with everything apart from the bread made in-house.”
